Designed in the 80’s by Dan Lawrence, the mighty ST3 Retro II makes a triumphant return. The ST3 Retro II is one of the most sought after Bolt-on Shredders that we brought back into the arsenal. At the heart of the ST3 Retro II you find a Seymour Duncan SH6 Custom Distortion Pickup, SSL-6 neck and middle pickups, a Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo, and Locking Grover Tuning machines.

The SH6 Custom B.C. Rich Distortion provides the highest output of all our humbuckers—hot enough to deliver smooth, fluid solo tones under gain, while still being capable of bell-like clean tones. Hand built in their Santa Barbara, CA, factory, the Distortion uses a large ceramic bar magnet, nickel-silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.

The SSL-6 Custom Flat for single coil guitars are specially overwound single-coil that strikes the perfect balance between increased output, and bouncy single coile tonal character. Your single notes will sound bold, and your solos will really sing. The middle position Custom Flat RWRP (Reverse Wound Reverse Polarity) single coil uses the same flat hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets  and special high-output coil winding as the standard version, but is made reverse wound/reverse polarity to provide noiseless operation when combined with the neck or bridge pickups in positions 2 and 4. On its own, it will give you the same balanced, beefed up, and punchy tone as the standard wound model.
